Bar Tatar inspired by Tohru Nakamura, a Schreiberei pop-up

Until the completion of the second restaurant concept from the Schreiberei, in the summer of 2022, from Tuesday, 5 April 2022, all guests will be able to enjoy a first taste of what they can experience in the future in the Schreiberei. While the renovation and conversion work is going on at Dienerstraße 20, we will have a special pop-up restaurant at HOFSTATT – specifically, in the KAFFEEWERK.

During the day there is still great coffee from our own, sustainable roasting, delicious focaccia, and cakes and pastries. And in the evening, Bar Tatar. Monday to Thursday, from 6 p.m. onwards, HOFSTATT features Bar Tatar inspired by Tohru Nakamura, implemented by the existing Schreiberei team. The new Schreiberei chef, Tom Heeg, will prepare tartare dishes that he has developed together with Tohru Nakamura. Guests can look forward to alternating fish, meat and vegetarian variants. To kick things off, the menu will feature Japanese beef tartare (with miso, ginger and Parmesan), salmon trout tartare by Niki Birnbaum (with roasted sesame and salted lemon) and colourful carrot tartare (with cumin, tapioca and shiitake), served with bread from independent baker Arnd Erbel and the popular chive oil.

However, it is not only on their plates that guests at Bar Tatar get something special, but, of course, also in their glasses. The team supporting restaurant manager and sommelier of the Schreiberei, Max Haußmann, as well as operations manager Stephan Fobo and his deputy Fabian Post, will make sure of that. In addition to the champagne partner of the Schreiberei, Veuve Clicquot, other select white, rosé and red wines will be available. What’s more, bar manager David Lindner will create two signature drinks for Bar Tatar. The team is looking forward to welcoming many guests, whether they come for a spontaneous visit after work or make a reservation in advance. With friends, work colleagues or family – everyone is welcome at Bar Tatar!
